Srinagar, Pahalgam and Sonamarg Tour Overview

Kashmir, an undeniable Paradise on earth, showcases beautiful terrain, exquisite waterways, and a variety of aesthetic flowers. Its scenic beauty, lake houses, and Chinar trees are some of the reasons why it should immediately find a place on your bucket list. A few kilometers ahead of Srinagar lies the beautiful town of Gulmarg, famous for its adventure sports and beautiful landscapes. This 7 days trip shall cover the City of Srinagar and some beautiful towns like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonamarg. The trip shall include local sight-seeing in Srinagar, followed by a drive to the town of Gulmarg. While the town of Gulmarg offers a variety of Flora and Fauna, the picturesque beauty of the town of Pahalgam isn’t something you should miss either. Shikara ride in Dal Lake and the picturesque view of snow-covered mountains will make you go weak in the knees. The fourth and final destination, Sonamarg, also called the “meadow of gold”, will mark a striking end to this remarkable journey through Kashmir. The gorgeous snow-covered peaks and lush green valleys make it an ideal location for a romantic couple’s getaway or for taking a quick break from the busy city life.

Srinagar, Pahalgam and Sonamarg Tour Itinerary

Day 1
The first day starts with arriving at Srinagar, which is the central point of this trip. Srinagar, the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir, is also known as the “heaven on earth”. Meet the driver and proceed towards your hotel for check-in. Then start exploring the city of Srinagar by visiting Mughal Gardens, Shankar Acharya Temple (built on the top of the mountain overlooking Dal Lake), Pari Mahal (Palace of Fairies), CheshmaShahi (Mughal Spring), Nishat Garden also known as the “Garden of pleasure”, and Shalimar Garden known as “Garden of love”. You may treat yourself to the beautiful shawls of Kashmir too. The sight of houseboats and clear lakes at Srinagar leave a long-lasting effect on the minds of the viewers.

Day 2
After a cozy night in Srinagar, the next morning you start from Srinagar and drive to Gulmarg. Gulmarg is 49.5 kilometers away from Srinagar via the Tungmarg road. The 1.5 hours long road trip offers the sight of scenic landscapes of Kashmir and picture-worthy spots. The drive is not only a stress-busting experience but also a dose of tranquility in itself with colorful flowers and panoramic views. Later in the afternoon, you may go around the town to appreciate its remarkable beauty, Gondola ride, and the world’s highest golf course. Return to the hotel in the night for a comfy and cozy sleep.
Day 3
Gulmarg to Pahalgam is relatively a longer ride of around 140 kilometers. Starting from Gulmarg in the morning after breakfast, it takes around 3-4 hours to reach Pahalgam. This drive again offers the spellbinding views of snow-covered peaks and the charming beauty of the colorful meadow of flowers. Visit Awantipura Ruins, Saffron Fields, and Cricket Bat Factories on the way. After the road trip, you may either rest at the hotel and charge yourself for the upcoming adventures, or take a hike around and witness the spectacular beauty of Kashmir.

Day 4
After staying overnight at Pahalgam and having a fulfilling breakfast, you leave for sight-seeing in and around the town of Pahalgam. The three most visited, tourist-friendly, and scenic neighborhoods of Pahalgam: Aru Valley, Betab Valley, and Chandanwari get covered in the sight-seeing. Aru valley, 12 km from Pahalgam, is famous for its scenic beauty, lush meadows, and its therapeutic environment. While the months of July-September are ideal for visiting Pahalgam if you want to appreciate its scenic beauty, however, for enjoying jet-skiing, you must visit during winter. Betab valley again offers a wide range of vegetation and remarkable landscapes. Chinar, deodar, pine, and willows are some of the many trees that line the valley of Betab giving it a view that is both peaceful and photography friendly. Chandanwari is the starting point of the famous Amarnath yatra that takes place every year in the month of (July to August). Have a fulfilling dinner and stay overnight at a hotel in Pahalgam.
Day 5
After being fully rested and energized overnight, you head back to Srinagar via road. The ride is again a beautiful drive of 90 kilometers through the meadow of flowers, and trees. Shikara ride in Dal Lake at Srinagar is another thing that will make you fall in love with the mind-blowing view of the Pir Panjal Mountains, dotted with a range of trees and flowering plants. The clear lakes and Shikara boats are some of the most loved experiences in and around Srinagar. Experience the Shikara ride in the evening.
Dinner & overnight stay.
Day 6
The penultimate day of the trip includes a drive to and back from the town of Sonamarg. Sonamarg is a small town, 70 km away from the city of Srinagar, situated at a height of 2730 meters above the sea level. The town of Sonamarg is a perfect recipe for a quaint day in the lap of sun-kissed mountains, waterfalls, and soaring glaciers. Enjoy the horse ride to Thajawas glacier and witness the magnificent beauty of Pir Panjals. Later return back to Srinagar and relax.

Day 7
The last day marks the end of a flawless trip through the meadow of vibrant flowers, picture-postcard landscapes, flawless lakes, and extravagant mountains. Checkout from the hotel in the morning, and head towards the airport for your ongoing journey.

  • Phone signals are available at Srinagar, Gulmarg, & Pahalgam. Only postpaid Sim cards work in Kashmir. Airtel & Jio work the best.
  • ATM’s are available at Srinagar & Pahalgam.
  • Don’t forget to carry your ID proof (Aadhar Card/Voter ID Card/Passport/Driving License).
  • Carry all the woolen clothes according to the weather. Our travel consultant will help you out.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

  • 5% of the total package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee if the cancellation is done 90+ days prior to the departure date.
  • 25% of the total package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee if the cancellation is done between 31 to 90 days prior to the departure date.
  • 50% of the total package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee if the cancellation is done between 16 to 30 days prior to the departure date.
  • 100% of the total package cost will be charged as a cancellation fee if the cancellation is done between 0 to 15 days prior to the departure date.
  • If a trek/tour is canceled at the last moment due to any government orders, harsh weather conditions, protests, landslides, or any other unforeseen circumstances, we work out the best possible alternate plans on tours/treks. At times even certain activities are canceled, the organization provides the best alternative but no refund would be provided.
  • If a trek/tour cannot be completed due to natural calamity/unforeseen circumstances (like rain, snowfall, earthquake, landslides, strike, bandh, etc.). No refund would be provided.
